Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Every S580 sedan is powered by the 496-hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine which is combined with a 48-volt hybrid system. All models come equipped with the Mercedes’ 4MATIC® all-wheel drive system. An air suspension and an active sound cancellation system are both standard, which helps the car deliver an ultra-quiet ride; the S580 also offers rear-wheel steering which will help with navigating this huge sedan through the city streets.
